Make plans to attend the Arkansas Historical Association’s Annual Conference this spring!

The organization will host its 85th Annual Conference in Monticello April 9-11. The theme will be “Arkansas at Work: Histories of Labor, Land, and Learning.” According to the event site, presentations will cover a wide range of topics from all time periods that explore the history of Arkansas at work, from the production and trade of material goods by Indigenous peoples for hundreds of generations to a diverse economy based on agriculture, mining, forestry, manufacturing, and tourism in more modern times.

The conference cost is $25, but does not include meals. Events will be held at the UAM Trotter House, the UAM University Center, and the Monticello Country Club. The reception and awards banquet will be held Friday, April 10 at 5:30 p.m.
