The Fort Smith Historical Society will focus on the future at its June 17th meeting. The Society will welcome Col. Nicholas “Matrix” Ihde, Commander of the 85th Fighter Group, to share about the exciting military training program happening in Fort Smith. Ebbing Air National Guard is welcoming pilots from Poland, Singapore, Finland, Germany, the Czech Republic, Greece, and Switzerland over the next several years, which is bringing new military families and great growth to the region.
The meeting will be held in the Community Room of the Fort Smith Public Library’s Main Branch on Rogers Avenue. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with the program to follow at 6 p.m. Refreshments will be served. All are welcome to attend.
